Visiting Diary: The FDD Team Visited the Republic of Angola, Marking a New Journey of Cross-Border Strategy

With the continuous promotion of China's reform and opening up, economic development and the "Belt and Road" initiative, Chinese enterprises have gradually integrated into the world economy and will play a greater role in international changes and world economic development in the future. On August 25, 2024, Hou Yong, Vice President of IBI’s Feidoodoo platform, Liu Zhiyuan, Vice President of IBI’s Feidoodoo platform, Zhang Yi, Director of Cross-border Commerce, and He Futing, Manager of Cross-border Transactions, formed an overseas delegation to Angola. Through exchanges with local governments, organizations and enterprises, and on-site visits to local farms and industrial parks, FDD will investigate the prospects of Angolan market cooperation in the context of the "Belt and Road" and explore new perspectives and strategies for cross-border cooperation in the future.

The visit was accompanied by Meng Wei, Director of the Beijing office of the China-Angola Chamber of Commerce, General Manager of Beijing Lithium Technetium Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and strategic partner of FDD Africa, and Gao Yan, Deputy Director of the Beijing office of the Angola Chamber of Commerce and strategic partner of FDD Africa.

The week-long visiting trip is full of wonderful moments and new insights, let’s review those wonderful moments together.

On August 25th, our first stop was a visit to Haishan Group. The delegation was warmly received by Zheng Gang, Chairman of Haishan Group, and Liu Zhidan, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Haishan Real Estate. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on relevant cooperation in Angola, and signed the "IBI - Haishan Group Angola Strategic Cooperation Agreement".

On August 26, the delegation of FDD under IBI, Haishan Group and the Minister of State for Economic Coordination of Angola, Estado Dr. Jose Luis Massano, and officials from relevant departments held business talks at the Presidential Palace of Angola. The purpose of this exchange is to deepen the economic cooperation between China and Angola, and promote the cooperation between IBI and Angola in agriculture, construction machinery, minerals and other sectors.

Subsequently, the FDD delegation had a thematic exchange with the General of the Armed Forces and the Social Security Agency, Dr. Cristóvão Miguel da Silva, and officials from relevant ministries on the "Promotion of the Cooperation Project of the Social Security Agency of the Angolan Armed Forces". The two sides conducted extensive discussions on Angolan farm operations, food processing, forest resources development and other projects in various fields.

The FDD delegation visited Yongjin Industrial Park - Zhongliao Agriculture and was warmly received by the person in charge, Ren Baisen and others. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the current situation of arable land and the market situation of agricultural products in Angola.

On August 27, the FDD delegation arrived at the West Road International Electric Power Project and exchanged views with Du Huiping, the person in charge, on the relevant cooperation of agricultural products.

On August 27, the FDD delegation arrived at the Chinese Embassy in Angola and conducted extensive discussions and exchanges with Lu Yuzhong, Commercial Counselor of the Economic and Staff Office of the Chinese Embassy in Angola and leaders of relevant departments, on the relevant policies, markets, culture and other conditions of China-Angola economic cooperation.

On August 28th, the FDD delegation arrived at the Angola branch of the Bank of China and was warmly received by Liu Li, Assistant to the President.

The FDD delegation arrived at the Ministry of Agriculture of Angola and was cordially received by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Joao Cunha, and officials from relevant departments.

On the same day, the FDD delegation arrived at SANEP GROUP and was warmly received by Chairman Luis Troso and others. The two sides introduced their respective development history, operation mode and business scope.

On the same day, the FDD delegation went to Kwanza Sul Province to meet with Mara Quiosa, the Governor of the province, Dr. Quiosa, the Deputy Governor of the province, Domingos Bambi and officials from relevant departments for business meetings.

On August 30, the FDD delegation arrived at China Hyway Group Co., Ltd. and was warmly received by Vice President Wei Ruihai and others. The two sides carried out extensive exchanges on cooperation in agriculture, overseas warehouses and international trade.

The FDD delegation also visited local farms in Angola and learned in detail about the overall situation of the farm, agricultural production, the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural machinery.

This trip to Angola has effectively promoted the economic, technological and even cultural exchanges between FDD and Angola, and boosted the effective implementation of the platform's "industrial belt + cross-border e-commerce" model, which has further laid a solid foundation for FDD's cross-border e-commerce trade cooperation to a new level.

In the future, FDD will continue to take advantage of the momentum, take Angola as the supporting point to continue to develop strategic cooperation among African countries and regions, and continue to contribute to the implementation of FDD's "do cross-border business and go overseas" strategy.
